Supporting BCIS's Growth

Their innovative data platform helps clients make informed business decisions, both financially and environmentally, enhancing the credibility of their activities to support clients with a specialist skills, research and data.

After securing investment from LDC to support their business growth venture, BCIS approached Furza to help build a high-performing outbound sales team. Through an extensive recruitment process including screening calls, assessment days and formal interviews with the Furza graduate management team and BCIS leadership team, 12 graduates were selected in total and onboarded on to the 3-month training academy in Furza's Manchester office.

We recently spoke withYasmin Dhaliwal, one of Furza's academy graduates and Sales Development Representative at BCIS, to find out how she was getting on in her new role.

Thank you for speaking to us today Yasmin and congratulations on a successful first two months at BCIS. How have you found it so far?

Thank you, I've really enjoyed it! I hit the 2-month target in the first month which im really happy with. I told the Academy Director at Furza my goal was to book a demo in my first week and i managed to do that on my second day which was amazing. I also got my first closed/won deal at the end of September and then another in October, so I'm really proud of how far I've come.

How did you find the recruitment process with Furza?

I applied online and one of the Furza team contacted me the next day. Lauren was my Graduate Manager throughout the process, it was three stages, an initial call, a telephone interview and an assessment centre. Throughout each stage, Lauren was really engaging and before the day she helped me prepare as much as possible. I felt really supported by the Furza team and it was clear they cared about my success through the process which was refreshing.

At the assessment centre i got to meet some of the senior sales leaders at BCIS which was great for being able to understand more about the opportunity, the company, and get that face to face interview where i could put my best foot forward. I got offered the role on the day and went to the Academy from there!

How did you find the Furza Academy?

So much fun! I'd never been to Manchester prior to getting this role, so getting to live there for a month and getting to know my new colleagues was a great experience. Before starting in the new role we had a week of connecting with the people you're going yo be working with - we're a really close team now.

I couldn't speak more highly of the academy training, going in I didn't know what to anticipate but it was really engaging and we did a lot of practical learning which i enjoyed. I learned about sales techniques and strategies which have been invaluable moving into the role and been able to develop a solid understanding of how to identify and connect with prospects and build that report which has ultimately helped me book meetings and hit my targets.

Being in a team of 12 new SDRs it was important to remember going into the Academy we were all entry-level so we were all in the same boat, remembering that i didn't feel alone and there wasn't any questions I couldn't ask, we al really motivate each other and get the job done. Although we were in a classroom setting as a team at Furza, we did get a lot of 1-1 time with the Academy Director. He could gage into our conversations on the phone and advise on how to improve which again, really helped build my confidence.

The Academy also showed me just how invested BCIS is in our learning and development, starting in my position as an SDR himself and then to where he is now, it was just amazing to see. It proved how much you can grow when he company you work for invests in your future.

What is your favourite part of sales?

So my favourite part of sales is the opportunity to build relationships and connect with prospects to understand their problems. It's fulfilling to see the positive impact of BCIS's product on businesses and the sense of accomplishment that comes with closing deals and exceeding targets.

I also have to mention the sales team here at BCIS, we're all different people of different ages and experiences but it is great because we can all help each other and bounce ideas around - every day is a learning day here and I've learnt so much already! I'm enjoying every minute of it.

What are your goals for the future?

Looking to the future, I think 100% I want to grow within the business and grow into different sector. It's a really exciting time at BCIS with new products launching so I'd love to work my way into a senior sales position as the company continues their exciting growth trajectory.

"We couldn't be more impressed with Yasmin and the whole team we have on board at BCIS, they have all gone from strength to strength. The quality of candidates Furza provided, the expert training and the overall delivery was a true testament to their knowledge and expertise. It's great to see them delivering results."
